ART CAR MUSEUM – New Exhibit:

Celebration of Art Cars!
20th Anniversary of the Art Car Museum

Opening, June 2, 2018, 7-10pm.
June 2, 2018 – November 18, 2018

Ann and James Harithas are proud to commemorate 20 Years of the Art Car Museum, with Celebration of Art Cars!, emphasizing Art Cars and car related art!

For this Summer’s exhibit, we will feature the works of  3 Texas artists.

Houston photographer, Allen Bourne’s Out of Doors series consists of tightly focused images of car doors, where decay meets abstraction. These pieces ask us to question the nature of temporality and our perceptions.

Local artist, Robert Cook’s photographic series, Retired, documents the Painted Tire Culture in Houston. These highly colorful expressions are peppered throughout the Houston area, unknown by many.

Dallas based Nomadic Fungi Institute, headed by Brad Ford Smith, presents Roadside Snacks, a survey of eyewitness accounts and laboratory tests pertaining to the proliferation of nomadic fungi. These charming and humorous small sculptures are delightfully mysterious and thought provoking. The Nomadic Fungi Institute, is a pseudoscience-based “Institution” established to investigate and document sightings of giant mushrooms growing on cars.

The Art Cars on view will be:

Susan Venus – Venus Hairse Cataillic – (hand painted by Beans Barton)
Joe Hale Haden – Wendell
David Best – Milan Car & Faith
