FOURTEEN

September 10, 2011 - December 4, 2011

Although less in number, female artists have considerable influence, vision and perspective. Fourteen is a group exhibition of Texas artists whose works encourage political, social or spiritual consciousness. Each artist has a distinctive, recognizable style. Through a variety of media, the exhibition presents balanced imagery: delicate and severe, intricate and simple, real and fantasy. The works communicate the impressive talent, passion, and dedication of these artists and demonstrate that artistic strength should never be measured in numbers alone. The Art Car Museum presents the exhibition ‘Fourteen’ in an attempt to gauge the talent of those women who continue to be underrepresented in Texas museums.
